Keuka College Downed in First Road Game

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — The Keuka College Men's Basketball team lost their first road game of the season, falling at Lycoming College 71-59 in a non-conference game on Wednesday.

Lamar Lovelace (Rochester, N.Y. / Northeast College Prep) led Keuka College (1-2) with 11 points and Akinlana Popoola (Cleveland, Ohio / Padua Franciscan) was right behind him with 10. Makya Morrison (Oneonta, N.Y. / Oneonta) and Kaleb Nutifafa (Elmsford, N.Y. / Alexander Hamilton) each had 13 rebounds in the game.

Lycoming College 71 vs. Keuka College 59

Quinn VanKerkhove (Irondequoit, N.Y. / Irondequoit) hit a three to start the game for the Wolves. The Green and Gold then answered points by the Warriors with eight in a row by Akinlana Popoola to tie the game. A three by Lamar Lovelace pushed Keuka ahead 14-11, but Lycoming regained the lead. The hosts widened the margin to lead by as many as 18 in the frame, holding a 43-25 lead at the half.

Lycoming pushed the lead up to 23 in the second half, but Keuka College continued to battle. 14 unanswered points by the Wolves shrunk the margin down to single digits at 51-42 with 11 minutes remaining. Later, Keuka cut the game down to six as Amar Jackson (Brooklyn, N.Y. / Frederick Douglas Academy) collected an offensive rebound and laid it in to make it 52-46. That would be as close as Keuka would make it, however. Lycoming pushed their lead back to double digits and defeated the Wolves 71-59.
