Buena Vista's Margo Muhlbauer became the third Division III basketball player, all women, to reach the 2,000-point milestone this season as she poured in 29 points in a 70-61 loss to Coe.

Muhlbauer needed nine points and got them and seven more in the first half. She finished the day 12-for-18 from the floor and 5-for-6 from the line in the defeat.

The school scoring record is well out of reach, however. That belongs to Jeannie Demers (1983-87), who is the all-time leading scorer in Division III history with 3,171 points.

&&f-boxr&&Other big milestones were reached on Saturday: First, St. Vincent defeated No. 14 Thomas More 64-56, marking the 500th victory in the history of the program and for coach Kristen Zawacki. Guilford post player Tyler Sanborn reached the 1,000-rebound milestone on Saturday in the Quakers' 71-58 defeat of Randolph.

Kerrie Carter reached 1,000 points for Concordia-Austin in the final game of her career, while Lamonte Thomas scored his 1,000th career point as a sophomore for Johnson and Wales.
