For HPU, the goal is to finish it

Howard Payne hasn't been No. 1 this season, but the Yellow Jackets did receive 10 of the 25 No. 1 votes in the D3hoops.com Top 25 several weeks down the stretch. For the Yellow Jackets, however, it's a matter of finishing what they started.

Howard Payne rolled through the 2006-07 regular season and first weekend of the NCAA Tournament with a 27-2 record and looked to be firing on all cylinders until Puget Sound chopped them down in the round of 16. This year, Howard Payne is looking to put a capper on its unbeaten run, led by point guard Meia Daniels, who has been part of the team's four consecutive NCAA Tournament runs.

Gordon Mann saw Howard Payne in sectional play both in 2007 and 2008 and chronicles Daniels, fellow All-Region pick Stacey Blalock and the Yellow Jackets in a Road to Holland feature.

&&g-boxl&&UW-Whitewater's senior class took a little longer to develop. When they were on the roster as freshmen, the Warhawks were following a team that had gone 9-17. They went 26-26 as freshman and sophomores and missed the NCAA Tournament last season after falling in the WIAC quarterfinals.

So to get to the Final Four means the seniors can go out in a big way. Tim Calderwood has more in a Road to Holland feature
