Cooper reaches Club 2,000

Wooster guard James Cooper hit a pair of free throws with 4:26 remaining in the Scots' North Coast Athletic Conference quarterfinal game Tuesday night to reach 2,000 points for his career.

The D3hoops.com All-American is the fifth Division III men's basketball player to reach the milestone this season. Cooper shot 7-for-14 from the floor, 2-for-5 from three-point range and 12-for-15 from the foul line for a total of 28 points as Wooster advanced to the semifinals with a 104-71 win against Oberlin.

Wooster advances to host the NCAC semifinals and finals on Friday and Saturday, playing Wabash in the semifinals while Allegheny, an upset winner against Wittenberg, plays the winner of Hiram and Ohio Wesleyan, which was postponed a day because of weather.
