Saints turn over Herons' streak

St. Lawrence forced a season-high 22 turnovers and ended William Smith's 15-game winning streak as the Saints defeated the Herons 71-55. Jamie Wolff scored a game-high 22 points and three St. Lawrence players outscored William Smith's high scorer as the No. 14 Herons lost for the first time since Dec. 4 against Rochester.

Rochester lost its third consecutive game, as Jamie Capra scored 19 points, 15 of them in the second half for Brandeis, which won 71-64. Friday night's women's scores.

&&g-boxl&&The Brandeis men finished the sweep, beating Rochester 68-64 behind 20 points from Kevin Olson. The game featured seven ties and 11 lead changes as the No. 10 Judges split the season series with the No. 6 Yellowjackets. And Washington U. did it again -- scoring the last eight points of the game in the final 92 seconds to win on the road, this time beating Case Western Reserve 71-68. No. 21 Tufts won its program-best 20th game, beating Bowdoin 83-56. Khalilah Ummah, Jenna Gomez and Katie Tausanovitch combined for 55 points on 25-for-36 shooting as the Jumbos beat the Polar Bears for the first time since December 1994. It left the NESCAC women's standings in a three-way tie, with Amherst, Bowdoin and Tufts at 6-2 apiece.

It wasn't a good night to be a Northwest Conference leader, as Whitman beat No. 16 Puget Sound, ending the Loggers' 10-game winning streak, while No. 12 George Fox lost as well, 45-35 at Lewis and Clark. The two remain tied for first. It was George Fox's first loss to the Pioneers since 1994.
