NYU has its women's basketball team in the Sweet 16 for the first time since 2004. And the atmosphere at NYU's Coles Center, where NYU (25-2 overall, 16-0 at home) is unbeaten, is rarely matched in Division III.
Coach Janice Quinn is well aware of this. She talks about what it takes to put on an event in the weekly Gordon Mann interview.
There are two matchups between the Iowa Conference and the UAA this weekend, and Quinn's Violets are part of one of them. What are her first impressions of the Iowa Conference? What can you learn by watching video?
Is there pressure in New York on NYU the way there is on the Yankees, Mets and Giants? "It's a wonderful, wonderful experience to be winners in New York," Quinn says. "If you're not really at the top it may not be so much fun, but I think ... we kind of thrive on the expectation that we would be good and we try very hard to measure up to that."
